The Story Behind Afrina Academy

Our Founder, Zaskia, realizes that one of the reasons why she can study, work, and now permanently reside in the US is because of the opportunity and access she had. Zaskia was able to transition her life smoothly from being an Indonesian lawyer to a dual-licensed lawyer licensed in both Indonesia and Washington State because she was able to access education in the US.

Zaskia acknowledged that without the support of her mother who died of cancer in 2020 towards her education, she wouldn't be where she is today. With her intention to provide more accessible access to education in Indonesia, continue her mother’s legacy, and keep her connection with Indonesia, Zaskia started Afrina Fellowship named after her late beloved mother in 2020.
Our Story

This fellowship is meant to help people in rural area of Indonesia who are struggling with financial situation for their education needs. This fellowship is also dedicated to Zaskia's mother who was always supportive of Zaskia's education and at the same time, to keep Zaskia's connection with Indonesia, although from afar.

After 4 successful years, Afrina Fellowship has transitioned into Afrina Academy with the many programmes developed along the years.
“Before I moved to the US, I felt like my dreams were too high, almost impossible.
But now, I wake up knowing I am living my (American) dream”.
